Within a couple of days, my maintenance required box went from green, to yellow, to red.
I tried changing the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs but that didn't help it at all.
Anyone have any ideas or ways to check what caused this? I'm sure there are probably lots of things that can cause that...


Any advice would be helpful.



Also I'm looking for a good alarm system for my car, any suggestions? :D

 

Should be a little recessed tab next to the maintenance box, depress that and it will go back to green. Assuming you have a 5th gen, year/make/model is very helpful when posting.

 

put in key and turn it once but dont start. hold the button on dash for 10 secs and it will go away.

 

Oops, I thought I put the year/model in there. It's a CD5 (97 accord lx). And that worked. Green is good.

Thanks guy, does that just tell me when to change my oil? What else is it for?

 

on the 6th gens it just comes up after like 6000 miles then 10000 or some set mileage it doesn't have any sensors going to your oil filter or anything that i know of lol

 

that's just it, just a mileage-based indicator to change your oil... under normal conditions ~7500 miles
