Do yourself a favor and get the mounts they are useful same as the wiring harness. The linkage should definately be new or you wont be happy. Oh yea and do the install right the first time and make it look good. Or you could just buy my 4 door with a better motor and alot of mods...

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but engine swaps are nothing new. They are very common and tons of information to suit your needs can be easily found. I know you wnat to do yours the right way, but it would be nice if you tried doing some research on your own.

Try the FAQ post at the top of the forum,
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/88-91-crx-ef-civic-frequently-asked-questions-faqs-1508680/

Check the HASport site for swap directions,
http://hasport.com/tech/hasport.htm

Search Google.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...ine+swap+civic

There is a LOT of information for what you are looking for and it doesn't take a lot of effort to find any of it.

I just bought this exact swap on monday, and have been searching since then for some answers with no avail. My question is will the stock motor mounts and shift linkage work to bolt in the engine? I know their not the best, but I want to wait to get after market mounts if I can. Any help would be appriciated.

If you can answer those questions first, your next replies won't be nearly as useless as your initial thread.

So since the motor mounts that come with this swap won't work, is it safe to assume that the shift linkage wont work either? And that I in a sense got hosed for buying this thinking that it would just drop in.

I did do research on this, but couldn't come up with any concrete answers. So I just figured that my car was the exact same as the jdm ef besides the firewall and front cross member do to being rhd, but I guess I was wrong, oh well live and learn, now other people looking to do this will have some more info before buying this same swap, thank you guys for the help I appreciate it. Also do I still need to buy new shift linkage?
