Default Wastegate to atmopshere

Im turboing my civic next week and couldnt find any videos of a jdm d15 with a t3 50 trim turbo with the wastegate dumptube not rerouted to the exhaust. The only videos I heard it didnt sound too great- Kinda shotty but none of them were hondas. Is it worth doing? or should i Just spend the extra 15 minutes rerouting it to the downpipe

I am running an open dump tube (different setup but shouldnt matter too much) and I love how it sounds, especially with the windows down. With the windows up its not too loud. But be warned from the outside it is VERY loud. If you are trying to be stealthy or dont want alot of attention I would advise rerouting it back into the exhaust

Remember, that is OPEN EXHAUST energy RIGHT outside the manifold. No mufflers, resonators, or long lengths of pipe (depending upon location). It's in your face. If you tune is off, and is TOO RICH, expect to get headaches from the fumes, regardless of location.

hahaha I think I'm going to reroute it into the exhaust. I can always get a louder BOV. I want to be obnoxious with it, but not soo much that it wears off after the first week and im stuck with "damnit, why didnt i just fix this before.."

I know exactly what you mean. Every time I hit my boost limit and my wastegate opens, it gets loud and smelly. My tune is right at 11.5-9 at full boost so it's not really overly rich, but I gonna check my wideband soon and see if it's functioning acurately still. I think I'm running richer than what it says.
