Recommend me some good speakers
I've been out of the car stereo scene for a few years. I just bought a 96 del sol and want to upgrade the audio. I already have the head unit, amps, sub, etc but need speakers.
Im planning on doing seperates in the front and coaxs in the rear. Im looking at Focal at the moment. I have a high-end home audio system ($20K+) so sound quality is of priority.
I've had 2 systems stolen in the past so im not really wanting to invest too much money here. Lets say my budget for 2 pairs of speakers is around $600.
what are some models I should start looking at? thanks

You are going to have to listen to some. If you are a true audiophile you will know that different people have different ears, and you will like different speakers than other people.
You need to also realize that as a soundstage a car is a piece of ****. $600 speakers may sound phenomenal in the dealer, but in a car all the sound quality is ruined, due to the cabin, road noise, install technique etc.
In a car I will put money on the fact that you cannot tell the difference in sound clarity between a $400 pair of components and a $200 pair.

I know what you mean with regards to sound quality being subjective and also how difficult it is to good a proper soundstage in a car. My last nice system had Boston Pro Series seperates with PPI amps (the old art series when ppi was still good) and JL subs. Since I have a del sol and the top is almost always gonna be off I realize there is noneed for expensive speakers. Im not looking for a reference system that can equal my home system.
