Default What size turbo for these characteristics?

It'll be daily driver. I will be boosting 7psi, and looking for ~250whp. Lag isnt a big deal so I'm looking for something that will spool around 4500. A T3 is too small and a T4 is too big so I'm going T3/T4. Now my question is, what is the difference between a T3/T4B and T3/T4E? What trim and a/r numbers would best suit my requirements?

Garrett seems to be better quality, but I'll let you guys tell me, Garrett or Turbonetics? Thanks for the info.

Well, if you want the turbo that will best suit your needs then here are the specs I would suggest:

T3/T04E

.63 A/R Turbine Housing
Stage III Turbine

.50 A/R Compressor Housing
50 Trim Compressor Wheel

The only problem with these specs are that you can only get a T3/T04E with these specs from Turbonetics. A Turbonetics T3/T04E will run you more than the newer Garrett T3/T04E's that everyone is running.

If you want to save some cash, then I will suggest that you get one of teh new Garrett T3/T04E's with the following specs:

T3/T04E

.63 A/R Turbine Housing
Stage III Turbine

.60 A/R Compressor Housing
57 Trim Compressor Wheel

This turbo will be *at least* $100.00 less than the Turbonetics turbo.

The T04E-Turbo What is it?
It is larger in external dimension and has a higher efficiency at greater pressure ratios than the T04B. Several compressor wheels are available in the family, Including the 60-1. There are two different turbine wheels used, Stage 2 & 3. This family of turbos can fitted with either the T3 or T4, Turbine housing. The T3 turbine housing has an integral wastegate port. Compressor inlet is either 3" or 2.75" and the outlet is 2". It is available with a water cooled or non water cooled bearing housing. Turbine housing A/R ratios are .48, .63, and .82. Larger A/R ratios are available for the T4 turbine housing.

The T04E/T3 Hybrid-Turbo is typically used for high flow drag race applications where little time is spent in the 2000-4500 Rpm range 94. (4cyl). It can be configured to flow over 850 CFM and support over 580 HRP. It works best at boost levels above 14psi.

The TO4E/T3 Hybrid-Turbo for any application up to 900-CFM/550+HRP. These units are built to match individual needs and applications. HD steel thrust bearing standard, Full circle thrust bearing can be used.

They are related. The "E" and "B" signify different families of compressor wheels. Each family was optimized for certain applications. One family is not better than the other. In some circumstances, the "E" may perform better than the "B." In other situations, vice versa. The key is to choose which wheel works best for your vehicle's needs.

Wow, thanks for all the info. TurbochargedSER, I'm leaning torward the Garrett you mentioned. Are there any quality issues with Turbonetics? Because the compressor side numbers on the Turbonetics seem more favorable to what I'm looking for.
