Boost by gear settings, I need advice
Ok so after talking to you guys about my traction problems at the track you all suggested i go boost by gear, well i have a appointment this coming week to get it installed, however due to me having neptune i wont be able to easily adjust it like i would if i had s300. i get to choose a high and a low and once i leave the dyno shop im pretty much committed to what settings the tuner applies. I know no two cars are the same but i am hoping that if i tell you guys my set up you can help me get a very good ballpark set up right out of the gate. ok a little about the car its a 93 civic hatch, 2350 race weight, tokico blue struts all the way around and adjustable coil overs on the front for lifting it to clear the 24.5x9x13s and neuspeed springs on the rear. the motor is a b18c1 with itr trans, the turbo set up is a full race stage 3 set up with a gt35r, i have two sets of springs for the dual 44mm wastegates i have 8 psi and 10 psi springs, i currently have the 8 installed, as for the motor it made 500 at 20 psi on evans dyno. at the track i just fry the slicks in first and second , 3rd is a sort of controlled spin but pulls pretty good, 4th breaks and hooks a few times but over all pulls good. my best 60 ft to date is a 1.75 my best 1/8th ET is 7.2 my best 1/8th mph is 103 my best 1/4 ET is 11.0 and my best 1/4 mph is 133. what i am wanting to do is set the low for street tires and the high for the track and the slicks. the street tires setting isnt as important as the track settings since i am trying to knock almost 5 tenths off my best ET. Here is what i was thinking for the high setting. first gear 12 psi, second gear 15 psi and third and fourth 20 psi. of course this is just a guess on my part i would like to hear what you all think. for the street tires setting i will probably have first set as low as it will allow hopefully 8 or so psi , second set to 10 third set to 15 and fourth set to 18 and fifth set to 20. any way i hope to hear from some one with a similar set up that has it dialed in pretty good.

From what I have found boost control only does so much. I used to tune my own car but I opted to hand the chores over to a more experienced tuner with this my current setup. After talking to tuners for a few months I settled on one I felt comfortable with. There are other things you can do to make the car hook besides just boost control.

The was the longest running paragraph I have ever read.... but
There is no definate way for us to tell you what settings you need to run, I see your on Neptune so I am under the assumption Jeff E is going to setup it up so just let him do his thing, you have a horrible crutch not having the capability to adjust the settings yourself at the track. I would focus on suspension and everything else, you shouldnt be breaking 4th gear loose with 500whp at the track.
