Code 9 question and suggestions on next step (All motor JDM B16A CRX)
Mods and a engine shot are below. Took about 5 months to finish this project on my driveway, working a few hours here and there with a buddy. Came out pretty clean and after chasing an issue of the car breaking up for weeks (turned out to be a loose ground wire), it's now running great. Pulls really hard and doesnt break up at all, idles well.
PROBLEM:
I still have a CEL though and it's throwing code 9 which I've read is "Number 1 Cylinder Position"....I'm guessing this has to do with the distributor. I haven't set the timing yet and cam gears are at 0. Do you think it could just need the timing set or should I source a new distributor?
Given the modifications below any ideas what I should do next? By the way it's still OBD0 so I think I'm pretty limited on the tuning. I was thinking maybe convert to OBDI and do cams and a tune? Definitely need to get a pro to align the car and also need to upgrade the brakes when $ permits.
