B16 timing belt problem

Default B16 timing belt problem

i have a b16 swap in my 90 dx. the block is a b16a and the head is form a 95 gsr. i am using the gsr water pump so i need the gsr timing belt too right? can i use the b16 tensioner or do i need that for a gsr too?

gsr belt and the b16 tensioner will be fine

awesome thanks....cause i know the gsr has like 22 teeth on the water pump as opposed to the 19 teeth on the b16. my timing is off and i remembered that i used the gsr pump but had the b16 belt with a rebuild kit i bought.

if your useing a B16 block use a B16 TIMING belt...
b16, gsr, type r are all 22 t water pumps.
LS motors have 19t water pumps.
the B16 block is a smaller deck, so you will need a smaller belt. such as a B16 timing belt.
and you will be fine with what ever tensioner you want.
