2001 turbo civic
My friend wants to get turbo for his 2001 civic. I remember reading something about not being able to do it becase it has aplastic intake manifold. is this true? i tried to find the post but i couldn't. and i didn't get to look at his car to see if it was plastic. and if it is, what would happen at about 6-7 psi? would it be able to hold? sory if this seems like a stupid question, but i did try searching on this site clubsi and all over different search engines. i know it could be done because i remember someone on here doing it. he must've had a custom intake manifold. Do they make aftermarket manifolds? ok, im gonna stop rambling now.

oh yeah, the non bypass type fuel system will be beautiful. You would have to run some kind of return line or add injectors.

there is only 1 turbo on a 2k1 that I know of. And from what I hear from the guy it doesnt perform well.
The ULEV engines cant handle the boost well.
As for the plastic manifold, yes it is made of a super hard plastic. BUt that is not the reason a turbo cannot be made. The VW golfs (non vr6 and vr6) have the same style manifold, and they can boost fine.
I kinda like the plastic manifold. Keeps heat down. Try driving for a hour with a metal intake manifold, and you cant touch it, unlike the plastic onees.

When I had my 2001 Civic apart I analyzed the manifold and that thing isn't going to hold any boost or N2o. It will shatter or explode.

you are correct about the n20. I have actually seen a 2k1 with a exploded manifold from a surge when this dude was using n20. As for turbo, it should be fine. But I wont be getting any forced induction with out the proper internals, and so far no one makes internal upgrades for the 7th gens.
