front mail seal r&r how do I get crank pulley off
Hey Everyone,
I am the newest 2003 Honda Element 4wd owner on the forum. I was curious what other Hondas have this 2.4l drivetrain? My first concern is the 136k motor is leaving a tennis ball size oil spot over night on the driveway. It seems to be the front mail seal and [B][U]I need to know how to get the crank pulley off to replace that front main seal.
I am wondering if there is a special tool, the crank pulley has an inner six sided about 52mm socket with an end nut inside of it that is 19mm. How do I get that nut off and keep my engine and pulley from turning? My transmission is automatic. Please help a shade tree mechanic....
Thanks,
Blaine
PS. I am looking for cross rails for this element and a travel box for luggage. Anyone want to sell one?

FYI My solution to getting the bolt out of that crank pulley was a 1" drive 1250 ft lbs air tool. Worked like a charm but the 250 ft lbs and the 500 ft lbs air tool would not touch it.
i use i 1/2 in impact for all mine... maybe your air tank was too small or somethin or not full... i just posted up about the tool cause it seemed like you were using hand tools.
