Default Anyone ever experienced their JRSC Belt Snapping

So I've been going back and forth between JRSC, Turbo and a swap for months. I even had a K24a2 swap lined up but the guy flaked out. So it's decided that I'm just going to go with the JRSC Race kit. My question is, has anyone ever experienced their supercharger belt snapping? If so, what are the affects? Also, if you would like to throw in any other problems that have occurred or some tips that you might have picked up along your SC way, feel free. I've done my research for the most part, I just can't seem to find much on this particular question that I have. Thanks for the input HT!

One more reason to go turbo, no belts to break!! Just don't over-tighten it and you shouldn't have a problem, stay on top of the maintenance schedule in terms of belt wear.

My roommate broke the serpentine belt on his 3g Eclipse, but they had a rotrex blower not centrifigual.

Haha, don't get me wrong. I love turbo, I've had like 6 turbo cars ranging from a s13 to DC's to EG's etc. I want something different for my EP. Thanks though, what happened after the belt snapped? Any other problems that happened because of the belt breaking?

The trick with the belts is change them every spring and get gates or goodyear......all the others are made a hard rubber and tend to slip a little at higher rpm no matter how tight you set them....all slipping means is you loose a little boost, thats it......blowers are great for dd and turbos are great for the strip and show cars. Turbos are much more complex and there are way more ways to kill your motor with a turbo thana blower. The moss jrsc kit can be installed in less than 4 hours if you know what you are doing....they that with a turbo......

i agree with musty. my belt slipped one time as i was driving and i knew because the engine temp started to rise very fast. its the tensioner bolt and the belt you just have to check frequently. gatorback belts are one of the best upgrades for the jrsc kit. its an easy install as well. the only draw back is the money to power ratio. my disappointment was the amount of hp for the money i spent... i wish i went turbo....

That's exactly why I decided to go with a blower. It's good to see that belt problems aren't as big as a problem as I was thinking but hey, I'd rather be a little more cautious haha.
