Default 4.78 FD and a Turbo LS???

What would be the downside to having a 4.78 fd on a 250-300hp turbo LS? Obviously less traction because the motor would be reving so fast but doesnt that mean I could just run less boost since the tranny would kinda make up for it or am I way off here?

I ask because I have a 4.78 fd in my GSR tranny on my all motor LS/V and im about to go LS/T.

Any help would be much appreciated!

would be faster if you got traction, with some drag radials and that power you should be able to hook up though

to be honest gsr gears with that final drive wont be much fun in that LS. low revs your going to run out of gear quick but like earl said IF you can get it to hook it will move out

I have gsr gears with a stock ls motor. just got it tuned (15-18lbs greddy 18g, prob about 300whp). second spins super hard on 215 azenis. third spins sometimes. So with that FD you will probably be spinning third. Unless you're on drag radials or slicks.
