Default Color of the Header..

Ok, Spoon header was installed a couple months ago I guess - since then the 2 pipes on the passenger side are a deep bronze color while the 2 on the driver's side are more of a deep, deep purple...is this normal to have 2 of one color and 2 of the other?

I don't think it matters......

Are you asking if it is flowing even or something? Or upset about the looks?

Also spoon header. Can you take pics of what you are talking about? I'm curious.

Yes what you are seeing is considered normal for a header.

I know they change color - of course they do. Is it normal for 2 pipes to be of a different color than the other 2? Is there more/less heat going through them... ?

I'm not woried, just curious...

Actually you can tell a lot by the color. The blue is letting you know that you have a "half" performing part. Could be because it's not 100% JDM (for instance you could have some Chinese metals mixed in there). These cases are rare, however I would personally trade in your defective part...

OK I had my fun. Seriously, when you first installed it did you bring it up to normal heat conditions, and then let it cool off for a while. I saw ONE person doing this, but I'm not sure if it really does jack-shtuff. I don't have a header so I wouldn't know...sorry

Mine did a simular thing after installing it. Two of the primaries turned a much darker color once they heat cycled a few times. I think that there must have been some residue left on the metal that wasn't cleaned off in the factory.

I used some metal pollish, cleaned the whole thing up, and now every collector is the same color.

My mugen header is the same way, a dark purplish color, I kinda like it. I really don't care if it freaking green as long as its doing its job, giving me some more HP the da wheels baby. These are functional parts not made fo beauty

Yes, I understand that.. I was more concerned that what I was seeing - different colors across the header and the fact that 2 were one color and the other 2 were a different color - could maybe be a symptom of something else...
