97 accord lx left front wheel thumping
so my brakes have been squealing, right? i order parts, put 'er up on the lifts, take off the wheel and looky there. the pads and rotors are fine. my guess is dust.
i put everything back together (having taken off the left front wheel, the caliper housing and a little dust). did it nice and careful. no parts were changed, nothing slammed, banged rattled or busted.
i put it on the road and there's this thumping sound. seems to disappear when i accel or brake, but is very there when i coast, and gets faster along with the car.
i tried taking the tire off again, and re-tightening everything. no luck.
toook it off once more, pulled the caliper housing off again, re-greased the bolts, put everything back together.
no luck.
any ideas?

You'll have to describe the sound a little more. The sound disappearing on acceleration or deceleration makes me stray away from wheel/tire balance issues. There is a good chance it is the wheel bearing. Has it been replaced? Try swerving left and right on an open road at different speeds, coasting, decel and acel. If the sound or thumping changes frequency, pitch of disappears then my bet is on the wheel bearing. Another quick check is to jack up the car, put your hands on the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position and push and pull on the tire, if you feel any play at all, try having someone apply the brakes, play goes away=wheel bearing, play still exists=upper or lower ball-joint.

funny thing about it is that the next time i took the car out to show my more mechanically astute father what the deal was, there was no more thumping going on. his suggestion was that i keep him in the car at all times to prevent further mishap.
i will try the latter suggestions just to be thorough, though, but since the distressing sound has disappeared, i can't test it in motion any more.
thanks for the help! if it comes back, i will update.
My 97 integra gsr is doing this as well goes away on a cell or if I hold a speed but in or out of a gear on decel it goes kathump kathump I'm being told cv, motor mounts or wheels might b loose, did you ever fix yours? Might give me an idea of where to look.
Thanks for any info you have
