Is the fluid low in the clutch master cylinder? If so, check for a leak at the top of the clutch pedal, the master cylinder, and the slave cylinder. If you can't find a leak, bleed the hydraulic system and check the clutch fork where it contacts the slave cylinder.

It's probably not the clutch itself.

Leaky/worn-out slave cylinder is probably the culprit (as prev mentioned).

Mine was losing fluid. It broke in half when I removed it from the car--pretty far gone.

Fairly easy to swap out--just be sure to bleed the air out of the cylinder before you bleed the lines.

Part was around $120, IIRC. Fluid is Dot 3 brake fluid IIRC.

That's seems more like the price for the clutch master cylinder, not the slave cylinder. Most auto parts store sell the slave cylinders for $20-$30.
