n1 pulley in b16a2
i've gotten some mixed reviews on this product. i just wanted some concrete answers. i know that it is designed for the b16b, and that the b16b has a little bit better of a crank that the a2. just wondering is any one running this on a b16a or has any one had any problems.
would really appreciate some constructive answers. THANK YOU!!

I heard that they aren't balanced and can shatter oil pumps. They may work well only on the CTR since they are designed for it, even though those 2 motors are identical.
your gonna get mixed answers.
but it comes down to this: harmonics (vibration) kills motor parts.. and the higer the speed of the parts the worse it gets and the more damaging potential it has. (think of your 8200 rpm redline)
the n1 pulley is exactly that. n1 can be somewhat related to the group-n racecars which is a pretty much showroom stock class. so you put a lighter pulley on the motor for an extra .8 hp in a class where every pound of weight or ounce of power can make all the difference. only thing they are sacrificing is long-term reliability. but i'm sure you'd find the teams rebuilding after every race anyway.
there are also aftermarket harmonic dampners.. so apparently there is some need for this part...
on a motor which wasn't track-only, i'd run at least the stock pulley. than n1/unorthodox racing **** is for the birds.

ok thanks for the reply, so it seems like no one is really running this pulley on their b16, ne one lol? I've got a week to make up my mind, my crank pulley is wobbling when ever i'm idling so im going to get a new one. i have stiff a$$ motor mounts so i guess those don't really help with the vibration my motor makes. either way i think i am just going to get an OEM pulley.
Sorry... that has nothing to do with anything. Anyways I agree with MonkeyMajic... Doesn't make sense to go all race parts if youre not trackin the car. You're just going to waste money... usually buying one part would end up snowballing into buyin more parts that helps out the other thing you just bought and so on and so forth.

I've been running an N1 pully on my built B18C for 3 years now. Daily driven, 9k redline.
NO problems at all.
In fact, I have numerous friends using them on anything from stock B16's to fully built B20's. Yep, no problems.
Do what you want.
