Guess what Turbo?
i just got my turbo kit from a friend but have no idea what it is i been looking but it seem to have 2 different part number (#20357 & # 20358) why does it have 2?? Also wonder if this is to big for my stock b20?? Also the turbo does have a lot of shaft play but it seem rebuild able, where can i get a rebuild kit for this turbo? Or where can i take it to for them to rebuild it??
that "turbonetics" sticker doesn't look real to me. I have never seen one like that. Where did your "friend" get this turbo from? Those are 2 different part numbers for t3 turbos that have different ARs the part number ending in 8 is for .63 AR, and the one ending in 7 is for .48 AR

If it were me, I would ebay that turbo and use whatever money I got to buy a real turbonetics or other quality brand turbo.
If the guy never ran oil through it, chances are there is a lot of damage to the shaft. Could be warped, turbine fins could be warped or made brittle by the lack of head dissipation.
Just too risky IMO. Get rid of it...

But if it was real, why would they be that redundant? There is already a "T" on the housing...

If you want to keep it, I would definitely have it rebuilt. I don't know anywhere in Kansas that does that. You could probably send it over to turbonetics. It's a T3/T4 which is the right size turbo for your motor.
I see a cool air intake. It's got a NOS fogger system and a T4 turbo, Dominic. I see an AIC controller. It has direct port nitrous injection. Yeah. And a stand-alone fuel management system. Not a bad way to spend $10,000.
the turbo is fine to use, and looks plenty real.
i have seen/worked with 3 that look just like that come off prelude turbo kits.
all have been ran pretty hard, and never showed a sign of wearing out prematurely.
i don't really see where your getting the "fake" part from.

I see these. I don't know why they all look different. Maybe they just update their design every few years. The black looking one with the little holes around the inlet is the latest design that is on the turbonetics website.
Maybe it's just an old unit.
