i have a obd2-obd1 harness in my 96 hatch.

i have a p28 in the car. everything seems to operate normaly.

upon start up the CEL comes on for 2 seconds then goes away like normal. But I just recently started throwing a CEL.

I went to jump the service connector by the ECU (the 2 pin plug) and nothing happens. My SRS light comes on, but not the CEL.

How can I check the CEL without the connecter? can't I connect 2 wires at the ECU and accomplish the same thing?

any help from the wiring guru's around here would be great.

 

when u jumped tha 2 pin plug and no cel light comes on then no codes

 

was the car off then put in the "on" position? or did u start it? Reset te ECU and see if it comes back.

when jumped, the CEL does not come on and it does not flash codes. BUT the SRS light does come on. If I reset the SRS light and dont jump the plug, the SRS light only comes on as I start the car then goes off (normal operating procedure)

(obd1) = D4-SCS service check connector Brown/Wht, ~5V (M/T); ~11V (A/T)

according to the helms the service connector ground out the wire. so I grounded it, and the CEL comes on, but it doesnt' flash - it just stays solid?

should it at least flash the all clear code?
