K20 swap on an Integra?
Hey there, I have a 1992 Acura Integra GSR, with the B17 Vtec motor, but it is in rough shape... (I'm having problems starting the car because I have to pump the gas a bit, head gasket is leaking oil, engine idles rough and is making a scratching noise inside the cylinder head... and some other small problems).
So I was thinking, would a K20 fit directly into my 92 Integra GSR body???

not without alot of work, youll need conversion mounts, and im not 100% sure for DA specifically, but most likely one of the mounts will need to be welded in place. youll need the motor, trans, head, harness, k-pro bla bla bla etc
if youre looking to get your car back up and running nicely, and have some money to spend but dont want a headache, buy an LS, maybe gsr swap... just by the question you asked, im pretty sure youd be in over your head trying to tackle a project like that

so you're giving them a broken b17, and they're giving you a k20 in good condition? what kind of k20 is it (a2, a3, etc)? how much will your mechanic charge for the install? it seems pretty labor intensive. if you have some $ to burn then go for it, it'd be a lot faster than your b17. do some searching, there already are 90-93 tegs out there with k20's in them.
Well, they wont know that its broken... Shh.. But really, its not completely broken, just the head gasket is the main problem... And since theyll already have the engine out, they might as well change it up.. I dunno, if the deal goes through, jsut to be nice I'll buy them a head gasket and then throw it in there...

Yea.. well i could either stick with my motor, and run it till the beautiful GSR dies... or i can get a new motor.. But i need to make some profit off of this motor or ill go broke with the swap..

you should spend a few hours reading on the specifics on this swap before giving the car to your mechanic, otherwise you're going to be dissapointed. nobody in their right mind would trade a complete k20 swap + the labor of installing it for a b17.
Fuel system:
-rail
-FPR
-lines
-filter
-pump
That alone is worth as much as your B17 in poor condition...
-ECU = $
-Mounts = $
-PNP Harness = $
-Cooling system setup = $
-misc bolts, hoses, clutch line etc = $
-labour = $
-intake setup = $
-headers = $
-exhaust system = $
-any missing sensors. i.e. o2 sensor = $
-shifter box setup and shifter cables = $
-pulleys/drive belt = $
-fluids = $
+ a heap more and not to mention the random things that will pop up that need to be paid for.
Your way in over your head if you think you can get away with a straight swap for a B17 and if you think it's a simple 1 day job. You will be waiting for quiet some time.

well the funny thing is while you're trying to rip this guy for the motor ten to one the k20 is already out of his car because its either blown or has a knock etc=
