93 Del Sol Si jdm b16a wont start.
ok so heres the deal, i have a 1994 del sol si swapped with a jdm b16a with an msd distributor and an ignition coil, i also have the p30 chipped and tuned. ive never had this problem. at first it felt like it wasnt getting gas, checked and the fuel pump is fine, than i thought it was the main relay, checked and its fine, now i havent gotten a chance to check sparks yet but any other suggestions before i found out that thats not it and i get stumped? also something else to consider is that the connection between the coil and dizzy isnt all that great, can a loose connection fry some wires or possibly my dizzy? thanks in advance guys.

fuel pump, ecu and relay are all good. its an almost brand new msd dizzy with an external ignition coil. now i did take each wire off each plug and touched metal while i got my friend to crank and i didnt see any sparks. also i pulled the dizzy apart and the rotor covor had a loose screw. it also looks kind of dirty in there. i tried cleaning it but got no where with that. im starting to think i need a whole new rotor and cap for the dizzy.
I have had an MSD ignition setup before. They are very touchy since they produce so much power. A loose connection can cause a spike in voltage which already increases an extremely hot electic circuit to get even hotter, so I wouldn't rule out fried components. Just run a continuity test. Also, there is a diagnostic procedure in the helms for the dizzy. Check it out. I have had several of my honda factory coils go bad as well. You have to be extrememly careful when messing with that stuff.
A little unwelcomed advise: MSD doesn't help much. It's more for looks unless you're running some crazy, advanced all-motor tuning setup. The OEM honda dizzy is pretty damn good IMO. I say ditch the MSD. Just my .02

not true, they give you that extra spark and boost in voltage that you need to ignite race gas. thats why i have it. and 92hondacivicvx u cant read. it cranks just wont fire. starters fine, and so is the battery.

What does your car do when you try to start it? And are you SURE you did a proper spark check? Also check your ignition switch, those were actually recalled by honda back in the day. You also should check continuity on your wires your suspicious of...and maybe chack resistance too. hope you have a voltometer
ok so i did some diagnosing and i found a loose screw on the rotor in the dizzy. i think that may have caused a loosed fire and fried the bitch. so now im trying to find a stock dizzy to see if that works. i dont know anyone who has a gsr or b16 to throw it on to make sure thats the problem. thanks for all your help guys.
yep its the dizzy. so now im looking for the stock b16 or gsr dizzy. thanks for your help guys. let me know if you got a dizzy or know someone who has one.
I know a guy here in los angeles who sells them for about $100 brand new with a lifetime warranty. I bought mine from him about a year ago. No problems with it so far. PM me if you're interested. Or you can look on ebay for a guy called the "distributor king" he carries them for pretty cheap too.
