I just finished putting together my ls vtec with a b16 head on a b18 ls block. I used the p30 pistons and did all new rings bearings and gaskets.as well as replacing the water pump and timing belt I also installed the arp headstuds and honed the cylinder walls. Blah blah blah you know the procedure... Anyways when I finaly got it back in the car it started up after about 30 seconds of cranking and then almost immedietly after oil started spraying from the oil filter... Now I'm curious if it's the pressure valve inside the oil pump or is it something to do with the oil line kit? If anyone has any ideas please post them asap... Thanks

 

Are you using the right filter?

 

Someone else has a post up just like your's. Are you the same person? You check your oil lines and pressure sensor? Make sure you didn't leave the rubber ring on the old filter stuck to the engine.

Did you even check your original thread because it has plenty of technical info to start solving this problem, but you decided to make a new name and create a new thread for some reason..
