Default b16b stroke to 1.8L

Any critics, comments and suggestion are welcome. My build will be just a poor type r.. I have a b16b right now, i want to to stroke the engine using those specs below.

i will be using the b16b block stock sleeve with 89mm crank came from b20 i believe its totaly the same with the ls b18b crank.
eagle rods with arp bolts and acl bearings match with jdm ITR oem piston. I will be using P30 crome tuned. i expect 11.5:1 will be my cr.

What should i expect problem in this kind of build. thank you..

I thought the 1.6 had a shorter deck height than the 1.8 thus limited to 1.7L.

No, this is b16b. They use the same bock has the B18C.

OP, if this assembled correctly then you should expect zero problems.

I would rather buy http://inlinefour.com/spoon18lstro.html and not worry about anything else! why even bother for an ls/b20 crank all its going to add is 37cc's which aint the biggest jump in dissplacement, its wayy too overrated and only a 2% gain when compared to a gsr/itr which means 2% more hp/tq, and thats if done right!

the kit above has the proper and NEW crank, pistons, head gasket, rings to use for an 1.8lt and with a name, receipt, spoon balancing and oem parts with high compression. basically you would have a fresh new itr motor with a better balance too, it makes alot more sense to do IMO!

you may want to considering buying a set of forged pistons.

my personal preference is to run a stock honda crank/rods/pistons with that kind of motor. So my advice is to get ahold of a GSR or ITR crank, rods and a set of OEM pistons that you would prefer.

gsr/itr crank is quite expensive here in my place, thats why im choosing the 89mm b20 crank because is quite really cheap here. I think oem itr piston suite my needs in my build. By the way anybody here knows how strong the stock b20 rods?

not to thread jack, My freind has a gsr block that he is thinking about stroking out to make more power on his NA setup. Would it be better to use an LS crank, rods, pistons, Use the GSR crank, piston and bore out to 84mm (with sleeves) (my setup), use an off the self stroker kit, or do a combo of the 89mm crank with a 84mm bore?

where did you get that? a guy off ek9.org just bought 1? not only that but why do you think inlinefour would post it for sale if they dont have it? not only do I highly doubt that its disscontinued, Iam sure inlinefour has it, they might have stocked a couple who knows. 1 thing is for sure that price, that quality and the gain is well worth it specially considering its new, oem, super balanced and your given a reciept for it!

i got this e-mail from director of operations of inlinefour.

We no longer offer this kit, because it is discontinued. However, we have put together our own. Here is the breakdown:

The pricing is as follows:

Honda OEM Type-R crankshaft: $1,000.00

Honda OEM JDM ITR pistons w/ rings and pins: $320.00 – complete set of 4.

Honda OEM ITR rods: $137.50 each = $550.00 for the set of 4.

Honda OEM ITR top-end gasket kit: $190.00

Honda OEM bottom-end gasket kit: $55.00

For the bearings, you can use the ACL Race bearings at $150.00 for the entire set, which includes 10 mains, 8 rods and a set of thrust washers. If you want to go OEM Honda, the cost is $230.00 and includes the same(10 mains, 8 rods, 1 thrust). For OEM Honda, you must let me know what “color codes” you need for the bearings. ACL’s use a standard size or a “thin standard”, which is .0005 thinner per half, to give an extra .001 in clearance for standard size crank journals.

Shipping/handling for all items to Philippines via USPS: $650.00

The total will vary, depending on what type of bearings you choose.

We can also have the entire assembly precision balanced to within .01 grams for $350.00 extra.

I have all items in stock and ready to ship.

Regards,

Brandon Bacio

I see, then you are better off going with an ls/b20 crank after all, have it bored to 82mm too as you would be safe with that and not be inneed of sleeves, you can get an ls crank, rods,rs pistons, new bearings,a gasket kit for both bottom and top,arp rod bolts, arp head studs and have a tight, new, high compression 1.88lt or 1.9lt for a cheap and reliable build?

here's an option

89 crank

Eagle ESP b18/b20 rods (it comes with arp already)

OTS pistons (arias,wiseco,JE,CP)

atleast 81.5mm bore.. so u have urself a fresh hone finish after boring and honing the extra .020" / .5mm
