Default Cluster problem

My Rpm work's but my mph dosent. when driving on the freeway, or going 50mph it jump's to 120-140. I have pull out the cluster and to check if all the wire's are plug in or loose and still dosent work. And i have check the wire that's plug into the tranny. Still dont work? anyone have any idea?.Do i need to buy another cluster? Or buy the whole gear thingy that plug's into the tranny?

If you have access to either another cluster or a VSS (the thingy that plugs into the tranny) try using it on your car. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe the VSS would throw a code if that was the case. Its probably just the Speedometer. What is your year/model? I have an extra EK DX cluster for parts.

Yeah that's probably all it is. I had problems with my tach in my 99-00 si cluster and I replaced the tach assembly and voila! problem fixed.

Yeah just change over your speedo. I bought an EX cluster for my egg and the speedo didn't work, I used the original speedo from the dx cluster in the ex and haven't had a problem yet.
