removing my f22b1 head
the headgasket blew, I broke an extention and a socket and rounded off the head of the bolt...has this happened to you? whats the correct way to fix this problem
Make sure you use the correct socket type to remove the headbolt (I think it was a 6 point). Since you rounded the heads, you will need a bolt extractor socket for it. I did the same to one of my head bolts and needed the bolt extractor from Sears to get it out. I used a hammer to set the socket on there real tight and used a breaker bar that I used to get the other bolts out with and I was real careful when I loosened the rounded bolt.
thank you guys, i have a breaker bar...i snapped a huskey brand socket and an extension...but sears def has it? it is a socket with like really extruding teeth and you beat it in? well it was really hard with the others...what can i do to get them out when im talking crazy in there, i had a strong *** man on them and they wouldnt break loose
as mentioned above, get the craftsman bolt-out. you dont have to hammer it on there, as you turn the bolt-out it bites harder into the bolt head.
also, use the drill as a last option. in another thread someone suggested drilling the head of the bolt off and after removing the head use a vise grip plier to remove the threaded shaft. I wouldn't try drilling the bolt and using a reverse threaded extractor, I dont think it would have enough strength.

the other ones that i took out look good...this one just doesnt wanna come out...should i try a much longer breaker bar, or something else.....impact gun?

haha ill i have is craftsmen, i let my bud try with his set...oh well
where can i get new head bolts? i was looking up aftermarket ones but idk really
if my engine has gone through so much heat that these bolts are a pain, does that mean my bottom end is most likely damaged or are the internals strong
