Ok well i was leaving my neighborhood waiting for the gate to open, and when it opens i put it in first and i start to move but i hear a big thump, and its not in a gear, so i try to take it out of first but its jammed into there. So i turn off the car, and i force it out of first so i can put it in N so i can move the car so i do that and move it and i pop my hood to see what happened, so i go back in my car start the car and i can barley move the shifter i got to force it into gear and i do that and see if the car moves, but nothing it just sits there trying to go it act likes the e-brake is up and ur trying to go. So i try second i force it and same as first but then i hear another big thump and now the shifter is all loose and easy to put in gear but no gears work. And i look under my car and see oil leaking and its coming from the tranny. So i wanted to know what caused this and that this means my tranny is toasted.

i am thinking get a used one, or rebuilding it but it cost a lot to rebuild. I think my gears are bad anyways cuz like 3 n 4 grinded after it all happened, but when it was leaking the oil i didn't see no metal shavings or nothing it looked brand new.
- "I'm thinking about purchasing a used one." Why, so the same issue can pop up again? Why chance the same fault when you can preemptively remove the problem through a rebuild of the current unit or a rebuild of the used unit.
- "I think my gears are faulty due to grinding during engagement." Those are a function of synchronizers, not the gears themselves unless the gears are destroyed.
- "The oil appeared brand new." Here's the thing, if you open up your transmission you will find two magnets probably covered to the brim in metal shavings, working transmission or not. Those little buggers do their jobs quite well.

Well i wanted to check something today to see if my differential was broken in my tranny, so i put the car in 1st and try to spin the wheels and they still spin, so i put it in reverse and still spins so i have a bad differential, so are my internals bad or just the differential? I have another casing so i will swap gears, and get some syncros, and probably a lsd for better traction.
I have this happen as well, the gear oil leaking is a bad sign, probably not anything to do with the clutch.
In my case I blew the pinion shaft and pinoin gears out into the street, and the speed sensor drive out the top of the case, the the case around the gear selector rod popped and was touching the street hanging on by the bushing.
So yes I had to get another case and diff, frankenstein a used tranny to make one, the used tranny was crap 2nd,3rd,and 4th synchros were worse than my originals, replaced the seals and two bearings.
