Timing question. Dizzy / ECU relationship
Guys just wondering. I was at my tuner shop the other day and my timing was off a little. So it was manually adjusted via the dizzy, no switch was jumped so could the ecu have countered this and re-adjusted the timing??
And if resetting the ECU can change timing what is the need to do it via the dizzy.
And if timing is off, what are the causes for this to happen in the first place??
So my dizzy position is moved a little, so if I reset the ECU will this mess up my ignition??
Its an internally stock B18C1 on stock ECU, just breathing mods done.

Jumping the service connector shouldn't be necessary for ECTune or Neptune for example.. You can lock timing on the software and then sync it up mechanically at the distributor.
