Default what to do with piping when installin hot air intake

I install a ram air intake on my crx si. the kit has a rubber tube that connect from the valve cover to the intake arm. Now the pipe that made this connection on the stock intake, is banded together with another pipe that connect two things that im not sure of.

1. what is this connecting
2. what can i use to replace it just to clean things up a little bit.

I think the part that I am talking about is number 8 or 9 in the illustration.

I just replace it with a hose or I cut the two apart.

Just connect them both with a tube to the intake.

One hose is the breather and the other runs coolent. Be careful if your going to cut them apart.

Thanks. I knew the top hose was the breather. So coolant is in the other hose. What kind of hose to i need to buy if i choose to replace it? I can't be the only one wanting to do this

A piece of (coolent) hose should do. Make sure it can bend easily without it getting pinched. You don't want any type of pinch or kink or your car's temperature will rise.
