I have a ls/vtec motor that i want to run pump gas and E85.. Meaning if i want to run full E85 in my car, i can and if i want to run just regular 93 in my car i can.. and if that is possible can i do all of this on crome??

The car is a street car and i am going for 500whp..

Not much to it really. There is nothing you can change to actually "build" something for E85. If you build a car geared towards a turbo setup its basically good for E85. Just be ready to have a bad-dude fuel system and some big injectors for 450+

As far as tuning goes you would just have to have two tunes done and then you can switch back and forth. Not sure if chrome can do dual maps like that.

 

i have 1000cc injectors but i am thinking that i am going to get another fuel bump.. or could i just get away with making the fuel line -8??

 

If you are planning on 500whp you will need a better fuel pump. I also maxed out a 1000cc injector set, reaching for 500 and now use 1600s. You may have somewhat lower fuel requirements as H22s can require a little more fuel.

That is what i am wanting to know.. cause... according to people on here.. you do not want to go more than 400whp on pump gas.. and i am wanting more than that.. so i am wanting to run E85... ON HIGH boost only and i want to figure out what i should do to acheive this goal.

 

according to what I have heard from reputable tuners, 1000's are only good for bout 450 with E85.

Im shooting for 550's on my setup on E85 and Im running the Injector dynamics 1000's and a walbro 255 feeding a bosch 044 (and run it at 100psi base pressure so they flow like 1600's) That seems to be the easiest way

 

That is what i am shooting for as well or a little less.. but the only thing i have is the rc 1000cc injectors and the hp walbro 255. I guess i am going to have to get another fuel pump. So to get more out of the rc's i am going to get a fpr and another fuel pump??? and i am good to go for e85??

 

Hey silver, Have you gotten to tune this setup?? I'm have the exact same setup in my car, but I won't be getting tune til the 14th with tony at t1. I'm curious what this setup can make on e85.

 

Depending on the turbo you will be fine to make 500whp with that set up. Ive seen over 500hp on E85 with a 3076r and 1000ccs even with GSR cams and an OEM IM.

 

i am just still wondering about this e85 stuff.. cause my orginal plan was to go water/methonal... and the reason why i wanted to do that is because... All i have to do for water/methonal is turn it on when i switch to my high boost application.. that is the only time i am wanting to use it.. other than that i would be using pump gas.. and when i want to race somebody.. i flip a switch and i have more power instantly.. that is the only reason why i would still want to do water/methonal..

 

One single in-tank Walbro fuel pump isn't going to enough for a true 500whp on E85. I would add an in-line Bosch 044 fuel pump

It depends on turbo and cams, but 500 is possible. People are making 500 on 93 with a single walbro. Most people running E85 dont need a meth injection kit

you gotta add a inline fuel pump and a Fuel Pressure regulator to achieve higher than 70 base pressure psi.

Im sure crome pro will allow you to switch maps.

Have your tuner do 2 maps.

The car is at T1 as we speak. I put a head on the car that I didnt know where it came from. It bit me in the *** bad. Turns out it had bent valves on one cylinder.

So after driving to dallas twice (this weekend) I got a good head on the car.

I was kinda thinking of asking tony to max out my setup just to see what it could push. Im sure he is kinda weary though cause Im on stock sleeves. Its just a small 35r though, so Im sure I could come close to maxing the turbo out before I ran out of fuel.

i just dynoed a k20/gt35 running 2 walbros, 1000cc rc, base fueg reg of 60psi.

made 534whp sae in dynojet.

wanted to boost more but having stock sleeves isnt really giving me and the owner a piece of mind.




i think 500 is very attainable with 1 walbro and 1000cc on e85 as long as your fuel pressure at high rpm dont go down (lower) than your base pressure. i maybe wrong. but just did it.

 

id go with 1600's and an areomotive a100 and get injector drivers so u dont run into idle problems on the street, run a cutoff switch for both pumps and an additional fuel cell for the e85 with a sump on it... i wanted to do a e85 tune and try to get 650hp but am going c16 now instead, and actually just call the tuner that you plan on taking it to and see what they would reccomend since they will be doing the tuning
