Weird transmission issue
Well I had a small head on collision a while ago. No serious damage on the exterior but the car became very hard to put in to first gear, reverse, and grinded at high rpms after that. Also when you put the car in first gear with the clutch depressed it would roll forward as if it was in gear even with the clutch depressed. The car would also shake violently if I came to a stop while it was still in gear with the clutch depressed. But if I took it out of gear, the shaking would stop. It got so bad that the car would just stall if you had the clutch depressed at a stop while still in gear. Also when you put it in reverse the car rolls backward even with the clutch depressed.
So I changed the clutch, and swapped out the 4 speed that was in there with an 88 si trans. Well the car isn't as hard to put in to gear now but it still moves forward when I'm in first, or I'm putting it in first gear with the clutch depressed. But it's no where near as bad as it was before. Could it be a broken motor mount? Or something else? Keep in mind I swapped transmissions and put in a new clutch.

Sounds to me like you need to adjust the clutch cable. Have you tried that? That will determine how much the clutch is released when you press the pedal.
I have adjusted the clutch cable already and it's still doing it. I just don't get it because I've changed transmissions and clutches.
I kid you not, I have adjusted and re-adjusted the cable probably 10 different times. I swapped out the cable from my 90 Si donar car and again back to the adjusting and finally I have it working correct.
but I had the same problem with the car rolling forward. even had the front end up on stands and would see the wheels spinning while clutch is in.
so the adjustment that I found worked was to have about an eight to a quarter of inch freeplay in the lever that feeds into the tranny that the cable is attached to.
not saying this is the cause of your problem, but it worked for me.
the other thing to check for I learned about from searching like tons of times and reading is bent components in your pedal cluster....
if you have changed and adjusted everything else, what else is left but that?
if the car was in a collision-you may also have put something out of whack. sadly cars are never the same after a wreck no matter what people say.
