wheel bearing happens at any time whether braking or accelerating. your brakes will only squeak when ur slowly down or if they're almost gone. take off your wheels and check how much of your brake pads are left.

easy test for wheel bearing

Jack up the car, grab the tire on the top and bottom and try moving the wheel back and forth. Check for any play or any clicking noises.

do this and then check your brake pads to rule out your brakes.

how high the e brake goes shouldn't have anything to do with squeaks. do what type s paz said and jack the car up and check for wheel play.
