Icon2 valve adjustment

i was wondering what would happen if you did a valve adjustment wrong. like for example your suppose to turn the crank counter clockwise and in the order of 1-3-4-2. but i did it clockwise 1-2-3-4 and made sure each cylinder was tdc. the motor runs but not like it did before the adjustment, should i just readjust it going counter clockwise dont want to mess up the motor.

yeah.... if you turned it clockwise the belt may have slipped a tooth. make sure its counter-clockwise and 1, 3, 4, 2. you can readjust the belt without ripping everything apart. just make sure the crank tdc mark lines up when the cams are tdc.

You dont have to redo your timing belt. Since the Integra doesnt have an auto tensioner, it really doesnt care which way you turn the engine (if it doesnt slip one direction, its not going to slip the other....says the laws of physics).

BTW, just to make sure....#1 cylinder is the furthest on the right.

Wrong. You turn the crank 180 degrees, which will turn the cam gears 90 degrees, to get you to TDC on the next piston.

Just double check that you're at TDC, and that you didn't skip a tooth on the belt for some reason. I don't think you doing them 1,2,3,4 would have too much affect...as long as the piston you were doing at the time was actually at it's proper TDC.

It doesnt matter as long as you're turning the engine and then when you feel that the valves are loose then you do the adjustments

Haha...whoops I do know that...I was thinking of turning the cam 90*. I only watch the cam as I crank the engine over.

hmm ok thnks. cuz my understanding is that you start at tdc with the #1 piston, rotate the crank 180 degrees then go 2 the #3 piston, then again 180 degrees go 2 the #4 piston, then another 180 degrees and go to the #2 piston, and after that go back in the same order to recheck 2 make sure none are loose?
does this sound right??
but ive also heard u can do that order n only turn the crank 90 degees?
