Default Help!

I was driving my ef home from work yesterday on the highway when it died on me so i pulled over and got out to check everything out and tried turning it on a few times and it wouldnt turn on. I waited a few min and turned it on and it turned on first try so i started driving it but it would barely move when i accelerated. I thought it was the distributor so i had my friend bring me another one put it on and it turned on and it still was chugging when you accelerated. Today i went and turned it on and it started first try so i decided to check the plugs and my rpm's went up to 2500 and it started fluctuating and my engine started running harder. Know what it could be or anyone have this problem before?

That's really odd, My guess would either be your injectors or your ecu.
One or more of your injectors could be sticking causing it to idle up like that, or they could be dirty or not working at all when it was barely moving. Since you've gone from one extreme to the other I'd suspect your ECU as well. See if you can find one to trade for a day and see if it helps. Then go from there.

it's easy to check your cel. If you have an obd-0 ecu just pull back your passenger side carpet under the dash and look at the hole through the gold plate. You'll see a blinking red LED. Count the blinks and those are your codes. It'll cycle through them if you have multiple codes smallest to largest. There will be a pause between codes and then it'll blink the next one, or start over from the beginning. Go check your codes. Look them up in the FAQ and then let us know what you've got.
If you have an obd1 ecu then it's different to check it, but you'll find how to do that in the FAQ section too.

Yea it would. It will send a bad signal to the ecu either to rich or to lean and then the motor tries to adjust for the reading and makes it worse.
