Hello all, looking to get myself a 98+ passport and just wanted to see if anyone on here has had one and what I can expect from one. I can only assume that the v6 lives up to the honda reliability and gas mileage etc, but what about the transfer case, transmission and related stuff? How about the services ( timing belt, water pump and yada) as compared to a civic? Please let me know from your experiences. thanks

 

im affraid that its not the case with the passport. its really an isuzu rebadged so its gonna be as reliable as an isuzu.

 

oh.. makes sense now(why i didnt see passport under the section) I knew that the rodeo and passport were similar if not identical, but it has an isuzu motor? : (

 

i had a 94' passport before i got my crx, and its deffinatly not as reliable as you would hope, gas milage SUCKED! i maaaybe got 12 MPG? the 4WD was probably the only thing i loved about it

 

It has an Isuzu everything. It's a badge-engineered car.

 

word, honestly i was looking to get something i could take up to the mountains and beat up a little bit and still have the reliability factor. guess thats outta the picture, dont want a problem child.

 

Get a first-gen CR-V.

yes but you would rather a gen 1.5 99-01. More power

 

On the flip side of the rebadge cluster fvck, you can get an Isuzu Oasis, which is a rebadged Odessey for like half of the price...

 

Stay away from the passports... I work Honda parts, and getting parts is a nightmare on its own.
