Default Hood Rise?

How do people do their hood rises? Ive seen people using washers, but also heard of using Doh-Doh skateboard truck bushing..has anyone used them? does it give the hood some time of "cushion?"

i used washers ones that are wider then the bracket way i could hold the with one hand and put the bolt in with the other while holding the hood up with my neck how solid are the bushings cause if they allow to much movement it will be harder on the latch if the bushing are sold and do not give that would be best

Just use plain washers. You don't have to worry about "cushioning."

I'm curious. Could someone please explain to me why its a good idea to "vent" the engine bay into a high pressure zone?

(Vent in quotes, because air will flow from the high pressure windshield base into the lower pressure engine bay, reducing the effectiveness of the radiator.)

I would think the air rushing over the hood and windshield would create a low pressure area behind the cowl trim and pull air out from under the hood. That's the idea behind the "hood tilt" although it looks stupid.

It's the same principle as when you tilt the sunroof up, much more air will come rushing through your dash vents. The air rushing over the sunroof creates a low pressure right behind the sunroof at the opening, thus sucking the air out of the cabin, which in turn pulls more air through the vents.

because the underside of the engine bay is enclosed right? the only reason i would ever consider this ricey "enhancement" is for h22 clearance, with high motor mounts. i would have to see actual flow charts to believe that this actually helps the performance of a vehicle. to me its just as bad as a single wiper arm in the middle of the windshield.

Yeah, it's been tested already.... I've seen a thread on it somewhere around Honda Tech..... doesn't do jack ****.

Surprising isn't it? NOT.
