i had that same question and problem, but i ended up not getting the hood. but everyone that i talk to says that its ok and that they are designed to make water run down right in the opening between your radiator and your exhaust manifold or header. they say that it wont hurt anything. but i dunno. its pretty much up to you.

some of the stock and really good vented hoods have rain gutters that route the water away from the engine.

I have spacers on the back of my hood, on the latches. Angles the back of the hood up, allowing mucho air circulation(high pressure area), and clearance for my engine. Old school domestic trick. Let us not forget out roots. Doesn't look to "bling" tho... people always tell me I forgot to close my hood....

i have a VIS XGT with 2 vents and most of the time there isnt a problem. But, one day my car was running funny so i pulled the plugs and found moisture on the sleeves, dried them off and it ran fine, but it was a pain in the ***. My problem is that water drains onto the valve cover and sits there, not to mention my timing belt. I would like to hear any suggestions as to how i can re-route the water elsewhere. BTW i like the hood and i think it dissipates heat well.

vented hoods are not a great idea unless it routes water away from the engine. if it doesnt.. dont bother buying it. i have yet to see a vented hood that routes it away from engine parts that can get damaged.

I have the Kaminari hood that is ported, looks like the camaro's. Granted it looks more agressive, but even the old people that I work with like it and say it really looks good. It shoots the air behind the engine head and doesn't allow water to just fall right in when the car is parked. Just my $.02 Cheers

I think the hoods that directs the water between the header and rad are okay. Im thinking about a mugen style cf hood myself.
I have a 98 teg.

I have a vented CF hood on my 2000 Civic and I have not had any problems. I live in WA state where it rains all the time, especially right now.

forgot to mention..... i noticed that all the heat that is usually under the hood of a turbo car escapes trhought the vents, keeps it fairly cool, i mean, comparatively speaking. i'm kinda glad i have one now... i'll try and get some up close pics of the vents to show where water goes
