Si dohc vtec side decals on gsr help
Alright guys, So I got the DA GS-R emblem for my GSR to replace the rear "DOHC VTEC" badge, and I wanted to make sure I still have DOHC VTEC on the car, so I decided to get the 99-2000 SI Side decals for my gsr... I dont want to mess it up, because I dont want to buy the decals again. I've seen a few of you have done this to your tegs, and I was hoping you could help me with the best way to install them. Any tips? I searched for write ups and came up with nothing. I just want to make sure I dont **** up.
Just to chime in, my actual '99 Si came without those and I decided not to put them back on. All they do is yell out at thieves: "STEAL ME, STEAL ME, STEAL ME!"
Hope someone can offer some better insight than I have, good luck.

Besides, its insured!
Well then rock on! Just as an Si owner I'm paranoid, although I myself am in a pretty good town where I don't hear of much theft going down, but you never know.
My guess about putting it on would be to soap it up and slide it on then dry it, but no idea how it actually goes. Hope someone can chime in with more info/experience.

I just put them back on my EM1. Warm water with a dab of dish soap allows you to move them around until you get them right. The just remove the excess water with a credit card or squeegee
This is kinda what I've heard from other decal installs, but Im super confused.. I guess I just figured it would be a little more simple, peal and stick, but its not. Im pretty confused on how to exactly do this.

Isnt there something you can buy specifically for this? I know soap and water works, but im really **** and I love doing things perfectly. It would make me feel better to do it this way. haha. If anyone knows what its called let me know.
Really it's not hard. Clean the area with alcohol. Grab a small dish with soapy water and wipe down the areathat the decal will go on. Peel the decal and apply to soap watered area. Remove axcess water from under decal with a credit card. Let sit a bit to dry and peel away backing.

You can also mark with a greese pencil as guides where is that you want them:
1. Clean the area with alchohol or glass cleaner (trust me it works)
2. Use a few small pieces of blue painters tape and place them to your licking or where other H-T users suggest you do (LOL)
3. Make the guide with a crayon or wax pencil something simple that you can follow
4. Mix in a spray bottle 50% and 50% alchohol with a few drops of dish washing liquid or
baby shampoo
5. Peel paper backing mist with soap solution and mist area where the decal it will be placed
6. Squeege with a credit card(like someone mentioned before) or bondo spreader wraped ona paper towel and let it dry remove protective lining assuming it has one and viola you are done my friend...Hope this helps

Thanks for the help guys. I'm a very picky guy and need things to be perfect. I used the soap and water trick, along with Painters tape, a credit card, and patients. This is the result.

It looks as perfect up close as it does from this distance. ( Dont worry, Suspension to go on next weekend)
