Need to know
I have a 1991 Civic Ex Sedan. This car has been leaking oil since I bought it. Replaced the valve cover gasket and all the seals that came with the kit. Also replaced the o-ring for the distributor then swapped out the oil pan and changed the seal. After all that it stopped leaking. Now I noticed that it was leaking again. My brother looked at it and he said it was the rear main seal. How hard is it to change that and would any one happen to have the part number.
Wow I didnt think that I had to do all that but I have to do it. I check the valve cover again and its dry. Checked around the distributor and nothing. Its leaking from the passenger side towards the firewall.
Be VERY careful when removing/installing. If you mar the mating surface you will have a continuous oil leak.
If you're not comfortable enough with it, just take it to a shop. Also, download the EF/CRX factory service manual from teh FAQ if you haven't already.
