HELP!! takes wayyy too long for car to start
Soo heres the deal.....
i have a 91 integra with an LSvtec conversion. Its still obd0 and its a completely stock LSvtec motor, except for an intake.
Car used to start up right away, but now i have to crank it for minutes before it starts. Once it warms up, the car starts up just fine. Any ideas on what might be the issue?

well it might not be at all, I wouldnt bet on it!
go to team-integra.net and search for an article about a starter rebuild, its super easy and only costs about 20 dolars, but I would start off by eliminating all free factors that may cause this, have your batter checked, walmart does it for free, yes I know they suck but its only a simple tool that gives you a simple read out nothing big, see batteries have to be both good in voltage(you can check) and cc or something(the tool checks) its for the cold start if the cc is low then battery needs changing, you can start by checking the battery voltage output yourself at home too. also make sure to sand down the battery connections, the starter connectors, the ground cables off the engine all from rust and oxidation. it might be the fuel pump like the guy said above,do you hear a electrical sound when turning the key only to the position on? how strong does it sound and how long does it take to stop? how long ago did you change the fuel filter or plugs?

Ok so you said that it cranks for a long time then starts, does that only do it when its been sitting for a long time? Try turning it off after having it run and start it again. Does i start right up or does it do the same thing?
If it stars right up, I'm willing to bet is your fuel pressure regulator. Its probably letting fuel leak past the bad seal and you're losing fuel pressure, but anyways check it out, worth a shot. Just pull the vacuum line off and stare at it for a 3 mins or so.

If it keeps cranking til it eventually starts, it is NOT the starter.
Fuel, spark, compression or timing. Do the usual checks to see which one is missing

I have spark, i checked the compression and im reading 195 195 200 and 195 again, so that seems to be ok. And timing is dead on.

Soooo, im getting the feeling it has something to do with the fuel based on what you guys are telling me. Im going to change out my FPR and filter today, if that doesnt work ill give the fuel pump a try. Thanks for your help guys. And if anybody has any other sugestions, go ahead and throw them at me!
dude 12.6 is low and as I said its sounds exactly like the case, a battery will eventually crank the engine but its needs that cc or what ever to be high! its more than likely that your alternator or starter is on its last leg, I would have both checked, why not anyway as I mentioned many places do this check for free. eliminate both alternator and battery(battery being new means nothing, its need boost from the alternator) than sand all ground and battery cables and then sand the ground and electrical connector that go's to the starter. why wouldnt you go with the free stuff first its much more logical, and more likely to have grounding, boosting issues with a hard start then fuel! check your repair manual! I from my own experience can tell you that I had the exact same issue and it was solved with me changing the starter connectors which were both simple and cheap! but thats my advice its up to you to take it or not bro GL!
