my boy cracked his sleeves on his ITR...basically stock.....what are the chances or what else is mostly damaged..can the head be damaged also? ne experiences?

second of all - if you want a coherent response you would be best to provide more information (what does basically stock mean?)

 

when i said stock ...i meant he didnt have ne internal work done in his engine....just wanted to know if something else can be damaged.....like the head...or ne thing else of that sort ..cause we know the block is fawked up.

btw...i read something saying that maybe theres a chance a couple valves can be bent...when this happens..kinda like a chain reaction.....dam...we need some help mannn.. ...helppppp

 

Yes it usually works that way - but you can get problems with the block/bearings/crank without bending valves. If he cracked the sleeves of the block (how do you know this without taking the motor apart btw?) then something BAD happened to the motor or it was severely abused. I would check compression, then the valves.

usually....

sleeves crack because of detonation.....thats usually the only thing that will do it. While more often seen on B20 b/z blocks it obviously can happen to others...

what exactly was his setup?

 

thanks...yes the motor was taken apart..and thats the only thing(on the block) that seems to be messed up...guess the best is to take the whole motor to the shop

truthfully i dunno what he did to the motor to mess it up like that...hope its just the block part that is damaged..and nothing else...

that's a cracked b20 FYI, most likely due to detonation.

than it would've been to fix the sleeve. The white teg needed new headlights, repainted bumper, had a powersteering leak, ac needed recharge, driver's side motor mount bolts sheared, brake line cut (hard line), cv joints needed rebuild, good interior cleaning, and as of tonight needed a new coil in the dizzy. Everything is done except the bumper, its preped for paint and should get a nice glossy cote tommorow. I had to pull the motor to get to the sheared bolt, talk about a pain in my ***. Its actually nice to drive a stock car for once. It has brand new tires, aloy wheels, ss brake lines, very clean black interior except the carpet, rides VERY nice, very very tight and quiet. If i get some time I'm going to do a compression / leakdown to determine what the condition of the engine is. Oh well, im proud of my find even though I had to crack a sleeve first!!
