I'm goin to do half of it myself. Because me and my dad are goin to make it an manuel and everything like that but we don't have anything to put in the engine. So yeah I have to take it to an shop for that one. But do you know of any good places that does that were harness thing???

i've never personally bought anything from him. but if you look him up, he has very good feedback. he uses stock harness' and just adds wire to it. i think on ebay he offers 30 bucks back after you install it and send your stock one back. but dont hold me to that, its been a while since i've looked at his stuff.

if your going to take the car to a shop for the engine swap then im sure they'll have a solution for you as far as the harness goes. auto to manual swap is pretty easy and straight forward. pedal assembly is a PITA but not too bad. theres a good how-to somewhere on the net. also if your capable of doing the auto to manual you should be plenty capable to swap an engine. hondas are pretty simple to work on. good luck. and as far as how much money depends on what kind of swap your looking for. $4500 should get you a really nice swap. you could get jdm complete b16 obd0 swap for probably $2000-$2500 and not have to convert to obd1.

junkyards are cheap i'd suggest you go there first. auto to manual is very simple. you can use your auto harness for conversion. just remember to bypass the parking brake neutral safety switch, or your car may not start. get a manual pedal cluster(probably a matching manual brake booster) clutch cable etc.... i did a manual transmission conversion on my mkii jetta and it was one of the easiest things ive done. you may also use the auto ecu as well when the swap is complete.

as for a engine swap to your car just do what everyone else has done and use your original wiring harness for mpfi conversion, which is the basis for a motor swap.

if you are looking to spend 4500 then you should ask a shop how much they will charge for the conversion and find a good motor something b series to have them throw in also my friend got a b16 with lsd tranny and them to put it in for like 2200 which i think is a good deal

Just because you don't have a cherry picker is no reason to not swap the engine yourself. If you can do the auto to manual swap then do the engine swap. Cherry pickers are like 100-150 bux so if you're gunna spend the money, so a ton on labor at a shop and just buy a cherry picker. I've also rented one before for like 30 bux. I'm sure there's somewhere near you that rents stuff like that.

As far as wiring goes, for the mpfi swap (if that's what you're talking about with the wire thingy) you have to move 2 wires on your ecu plugs and add 4 and run those to the engine bay. That's it. Pretty d@mn cake. Just get an Si wire harness and your set.

You say that you're going to do a motor swap... what motor are you putting in, it might be more beneficial to do the motor swap and auto to manual at the same time. Why buy a manual tranny for your stock motor and then swap it out for a whole new set up?

Save money, buy a cherry picker and do the swap yourself. There are tons of write ups on here and other sites on how to swap in the manual tranny and what ever motor you want to swap in as well.

good luck!
