Just because a fuse appears to be ok doesn't mean it is. Always check them with a meter. Check the resistance (Ohms setting on the meter) and if they read OL, they are bad

Unaware of the broken fuses will make it cause to a bigger problem and because of the ignorance of the knowledge about fuses; it is a must to be emphasize by experts.

Yup, you cannot just go by looks. A hairline crack that is very hard to see increase the resistance by quite a bit.

does anyone know what the resistance should be when testing with an ohm meter? i know it will vary depending on the amperage rating on the fuse, and probably the volts going through it (even though there won't be any when testing). i learned something about this in physics last year but i forget it

also will it hurt anything by taking out all the fuses and checking with a meter one by one? besides for resetting the ecu/radio/clock?

can you cut it instead, it might be better that way. i would try a couple other places to see if you can get the correct fit before doing that though just to see if they have the right one

you have stressed the new one. you should try and find one that fits better. Trimming it is a good suggestion.

A good fuse should show close to 0 ohms resistance when you test it. There will be a very small voltage going through it when you test it.

You don't need to pull them out. They have two little slits on the back side of the fuse that you can use to check them while still in the holder
