Icon6 Knock Sensor on D16Y7

Hey, I bought a car with a few issues and I'm working them out. The car is a 1996 Civic EX with a mini me in it? Don't ask me how or why, I bought the car that way. It has a D16Y7 block, and it is throwing a check engine light and the reason is there is no Knock sensor hooked up. The harness has the clip for it but there is no where to put it.

My Question is, has anyone ever installed a Knock Sensor on a Y7 block? If so how was it done?

it would be cheaper is u just get a convertion harness obd2a to obd1 and a p28 ecu so that u dont have to actually install a knock sensor and wire it up

Idk about that, Actually thats not even true.

Y7 Blocks have the treads for a knock sensor, Find a used knock sensor.
The knock sensor goes under the intake manifold on the back of the block.

awesome, that is excactly what i wanted to know. plus my state has anual inspections so i need it to pass inspection.

So do I need to remove the intake manifold to install it or can I put the car up on a lift to get at it?

You may be able to get to it from up top, Its a 19mm, I think...Cant remember. Just get a medium sized extension. Im able to get my hand to it from the top.
If you have access to a lift you can try that, But its literally directly under the intake manifold to the right if your standing in front of the car. Also, be careful the sensor is fragile and the plastic has a tendency to break.

Edit:, Removing the intake manifold isnt needed.
