Default I know one of you body people will know how to fix this!

So this is what I found under the dash of my 92 cx, I don't know what the previous owner was thinking. I bought the spot welder bit and drilled out 4 of the welds. Before I get to carried away am I doing this right? I just purchased this steering column support from another honda tech member. any suggestions? I'm going to bolt the new one in and then have my buddy tack weld around it.

You seem to be on the right track . Just drill out the spot welds, remove the support, and spot weld the new one it . Make sure you at least prime the welds when your done, you dont want to have to tair into your dash again to do a rust repair lol.
