D15b8 into vx O2 sensor CEL issue
I swapped the D15b8 out of my 92 CX into my 92 VX. The engine ran perfect before, no CEL or anything. Now that it is in the VX i am getting an oxygen sensor CEL. I have the CX engine harness plugged into the VX chassis harness (minus the wide band O2 sensor plug) and using the CX ECU. After researching wiring diagrams and seeing the below picture i swapped the wire shown in the pic since the 4 wire and 1 wire O2 sensors use the same signal wire circuit.

However i am still getting the CEL. While i understand that it is totally possible the O2 sensor could have gone bad while swapping the engine i'd like to rule out all possibilities before springing $80 on a new oxygen sensor. The CEL doesn't come on until the engine is fully warmed up and driven some. For example, i started the car and left work yesterday and went 14 miles before it came on. I'm assuming it happens when the ECU goes from closed loop to open loop. Some thoughts i've had:
1) The VX i swapped the engine into had what i'm sure is pretty old gas in it. Can bad/old gas ruin an oxygen sensor?
2) Is there still a wiring issue i'm missing?
3) Can i put a known good 4 wire O2 sensor on the engine and connect the signal (white) wire to the engine harness and test that way?
4) ???????
Just trying to see if anybody else has some thoughts. Thanks in advance!
