Horn wire?
Got a question...
I never had a horn on my car. I went the other day to Advanced Auto Parts and got a generic horn. Tested it out on a battery and it works fine. I take off my bumper and didn't see an existing horn. I scratched my head and searched some more. I didn't even see any wiring for it. My car is a 94' Si Hatch.
My question is.. What color is the horn wire on a EG hatch, 94' Si? I want to take apart the pass. side headlight harness apart and search for that wire. Thanks guys!!
I know my horn relay is working because when I hit the horn button the relay clicks, unless that means my relay is bad, no sure.
Thanks!

Relay clicking = contact point closing (i.e. it works)
Trace that horn wire back, grab a service manual, find what color it is. Most horns are permanently hot with a switched ground off the steering wheel.

ughm If its the horn your searching for, its by the wipers. you have to take off that plastic piece thats at the base of the wipers (or thats how it was for my coupe) its been a while since I effed with my horn, but im pretty sure thats where all the stuff would be if you wanted to switch horns. I hope that answers your question. Do you have a stock wheel? does all the wiring for that work properly?
goto a you pull it junk yard and grab the horn and the wire harness a few feet of it and Clips. take back that other horn. plus you can see where it is at and where the wires run to. it is on the left side i think under the bumper
Thanks for the help but none have helped me. I don't really care if my horn is stock or not. All I would like to know is what color the horn wire is. I know it's either; wht/grn or blu/red I believe. I've checked my helms but it's not telling me what color wire. When I conneced my horn to the wht/grn wire my horn stayed on, that is with the car off and no keys in. I connected it to the blu/red it didn't work.
thanks
thanks

Yes.
One wire at horn is hot and the other is ground.
If there's a relay then the hot is usually hot only when you push the switch.
Circuit can be designed so the hot wire is always hot and the ground side is switched but my '97 HX is not that way.

That's easy!
Go to a junkyard, take a horn or a pair of horns from a BMW!
Will cost you less than even a basic standard horn from a parts store.
I put a pair of Volvo horns in my Civic. Not hard to do. I had to fool around with the mount bracket that came with the Volvo horns to make them fit but not too hard.

Hey search bulldog security and look for the 94 hatch. They have all the wiring diagram for an alarm which uses the horn. And the horn is under the bumper on the passanger side. But I think there is more then one wire running to it. Had my bumper off yesterday but can't remember.
