my alternator is goin out on me...

will the alternator out of my d16a6 fit directly onto my b16a?

no it will not

 

maybe its just my alternator belt.
idk i accidently got wd-40 on the belt so it squeeled bad. so lately ive been spraying heavy duty silicone on it. and sometimes Prestone belt dressing....could the alternator belt cause the alternator to provide little power?

 

i've seen d series alternator's on b engines already. something about the bracket needing changed or something. idk. i never did it.

 

I have looked into doing this,But it was a long while back..




It could possibly be done if you make an adapter plate
to to fill in the gap and bolt up in two locations..
Maybe something like this:

 

so the d16 alternator would be able to power my b16 if it was bolted on there correctly?

 

If it is good and you can get the belt tight..

I also changed out the 4 ribbed pulley
even though you could just run the three ribbed belt
if you had to..

 

alright.
well i hope its just the belt gone bad...
i really dont feel like hunting down another alternator
