Just use a pry bar in between the transmission and the axles. They should pry right out.

I use a big flat head screwdriver. When you put the new axle in, make sure the C clip opens downwards, or at least it helped me the other day. Give a decent yank to make sure they are in. I put a little grease on the hub side of the axle to prevent it from seizing, but do as you wish.

Keyword bolded. Usually they just pry out with a big screwdriver. Occasionally they just don't want to come out, usually seen most commonly on automatic civics that have suffered numerous neutral drops. If it doesn't pop out with a large screwdrive you're in for some serious work prying and hammering. If you can remove one i'd put a punch through the differential and hammer if out from the other side.

definitely agreed. be careful using brute force though you might seperate the axle from its joints

all of the ways mentioned work well, although i have found it much easier to use large ball joint fork and a little leverage.

Hey, I tried a pickle fork to get my shafts off my GSR engine and it wasn't big enough. About how big is yours? The width of the tines on the fork, that is?

the largest one i could find, i made it wider by beveling it in at the ends. it pops the axle before its fully around the shaft. just tap it behind her and give it a little pry action if needed. i also have a pipe to put arround it for added leverage.
