Removing 1/4 Windows on Hatchback?
Has anyone removed them before? I can get the LEXAN from a friend really cheap and I am interested in losing them for weight reasons. I waswondering if anyone has removed them before? Thanks.
I'm sure it can't be too difficult, just a couple screws. Take off that molding between the door windows and rear, thats where you'll find all the good stuff. Then you just gotta unsrew it from the rear piece that allows it to open.
My question is, how much weight will it save and what is the proper way to put them on? I have no use for those windows functionally, might as well save some weight (plus I think they leak).

Trace the stock window onto paper and cut the paper out. Use the paper as a pattern for cutting the lexan. Use a heat gun to bend the lexan more than it needs to be and when you bolt it up it should get nice and tight. You might need to add some brackets because the glass was stiffer, but then silicon should seal everything nice
To get the back bracket off the glass is as easy as removing an e-clip.
