40-50 pounds if you get all the "tar" (sound deadening and other inside ****) and the supports

The grommet will work great. Use common tool to remove of course. If you get confused, ask to barrow the honda dx manuel to photo copy the wiper diagram. THe motor and chit can weight some good lbs.

thanks dude i remember the rear wiper in my integra really didnt weigh that much so i didnt remove it but on the civic hatch there really isnt a need to have a wiper back there since the glass goes straight up and down, so snow and rain cant really settle on it like the integra hatch

i bet if you did all of that, you would weigh more!!! I work in a body shp and people underrate the weight of "bondo", we dont use bondo but body filler and all the **** it takes to shaves, the weight adds up,
If you remove the tar, you drop 6-8 lbs top.. Their is the rumor of more lbs lost, but their just isn't that much tar, rear wiper 3lbs

i'm not sure if the scales was exactly right. I gutted my 92 cx. then took out the dash and removed the heater **** and all the crap behind it and so all i have in there is two seats a dash hull a rear strut bar plus streeing wheel and the necessary wiring crap. oh yea fatory wheels it weighed in at 1850lbs. i don't know if that helps but that was my car.

For cars in our class, every 50lb reduction saves you 0.2sec in 1/4mile. If your car is not light in the first place, you really can't reduce much and still have your car as a daily driver.
