Smoking + burnt rubber smell
Here are some general info about the car: b20b on a crx.
Anyhow, just recently when I driven the car for like 5 or 10 mins there will be a strong nasty smell of burn rubber coming from the two wheel in the front. Furthermore, a few days ago when i was driving around my area for a few mins my car seems to lag or stagger so i pulled it a side and turned it off. Then when i tried to start it again and put it in gear it wouldnt move which i thought could of been a slip clutch (impossible just got new clutch and barely drive the car) but then after a while a friend starts playing with the brake pedal and found out it was all the way on the floor so he got it release and it was able to move afterward.
Then, i got it to the house and took out the wheels and was sniffing for the awful fumes and it seems to be coming from the calipers (not 100% sure). Anyone know what could go wrong and any suggestions for me to diagnose the problem before telling me to buy new parts and only cost me more money rather than fixing the problems. help would be greatly appreciated .

no it dosent look blue, proably because i didnt drive it long enough for it to heat up the rotor that long. At first it thought it ws my motor overeating cus of the smell so i immediately stop the car. One thing i notice is that while i was driving fo like 5 mins my rpm for 2nd gear was staying at like 2000 rpm and it feels like there was no tq going on. I came to conclusion that the causeof this was probably cus the brake was starting to lock up?

the burnt rubber smell can be either your tires heating up from the brakes dragging, or much more dangerous would be the rubber seal on the caliper piston burning..
you might need a caliper rebuild kit which is fairly cheap, but you might need new pads and resurfaced rotors too..
as a final note, did you remember to remove the dust ring on the inside of the knuckles before swapping in the b20? That may be an extreme case, but i imagine it could cause something similar to that to occur.

surprisingly my break pads still has alot of meat left. but no i still got that dust shield thing because i didnt see y i have to take it out.
I doubt thats the problem to the smell cus i been driving the car for like a month and didnt have any smelling problems until recently. Plus i dont hear any grinding or rubbing on the axles with the dust shield.
exactly.... take those front brakes apart and see what ya got causing the problem. my bet is a piston is stuck and not releasing
What do you mean by adjust? There isn't really any adjusting on the front calipers, the piston just goes in and out. Did you disassemble and re-assemble them with new grease and gaskets? Once you get them apart, carefully scrap off any crap on the pistons. If the pistons are actually pitted you should probably get new ones (that's what I did). Generally the calipers will be ok, even with some pitting in the bore, because the important contact areas are between the gasket that sits in the bore's groove and the piston.
when i say adjust i meant by using a c clamp to get the piston to go in. Since i was about to get the piston in does that mean my caliper is still good? Also, what does people mean by sticky caliper?
they mean that when you take your foot off the brake pedal, instead of the piston retracting back into the caliper a little bit it stays stuck there and keeps pressure on the pads.
